About the Artist
Victoria Alexander Marquez is an artist living in Fallbrook, California. A graduate of California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California, she has used many different mediums to express her thoughts and feelings. This includes drawing, silkscreen textiles, painting with acrylic and oil, etching, and mono silkscreen.
Now, her work has developed into the mixed media series know as “Sky Above/ Earth Below”. This work began as the expression of five years living with the endless landscapes of the southwest. The beautiful feelings of that pure, vast and lonely space, muted colors and big sky inspired images that lent themselves well to the combination of the materials of watercolor paint, paper and acrylic. The works keeps changing with the new series, Water and Wind. The shapes, colors and textures capture the beauty, space and strength of Nature.
