About the Artist
Maria is a gifted self-taught artist. Born in Monterey, California to a large Italian family of seven kids with Maria being the second youngest. The Storelli family was a home full of many fun times and memories which shaped the artist and person she is today. Maria took to art as soon as she was able to hold a crayon. Throughout her childhood, Maria developed an appreciation for her beautiful surroundings living on the Central Coast of California. Years of artistic expression made it clear that Maria's life would be centered upon her passion for art. Maria raised her children son Dominic and daughter Janelle while teaching preschool for many years. Her love for children and art would ultimately help decide her future. While working full time for world renowned artist Simon Bull, Maria was inspired to paint with acrylics, soon to branch out on her own. Maria was asked to illustrate childrens books with her paintings which are now in the process of being published. Maria is now a professional artist full-time where she lives in Monterey with her husband Byron, her entire extended family, and two cats, Dexter and Roxy.
